Thermos visits the ghee for a photo shoot

A film crew out of Chicago visited Grand Targhee this week to shoot a campaign for Thermos and their new line of uber-burly thermoses that are essential gear for the most spectacular adventures.

Film shoots are a massive logistical undertaking from all sides, but particularly when mother nature gets involved.

Don’t adjust your screen.  Arriving at the top of Dreamcatcher, we were engulfed in a low cloud layer that breezed in and out all afternoon.

The team assembled at the top of the lift to discuss our options.  Which were really just to hang out and hope the skies opened up a little.  So we waited.

And we waited . . .

And were finally rewarded when it started to clear up.  So our paragliders got ready for their shot.

The window of weather came through for Brian and Becca who had a great flight from the top!

Oh, and there was a plane . . .

The plane contained the DP (Director of Photography) who was filming the paragliders

With shot #1 in the bag, it was time for the final paragliding sequence: pilot Destin, videographer Ryan and an expensive 35 lb camera.  This was Ryan’s first time paragliding.

Right before they launched, the sun came through the low cloud layer creating some incredible light.

And they nailed it.

We can’t wait to see the final cut!

Just another typical day ast the ghee. The sun always comes out about the end of the day. You just have to be patient and believe. When do we get to see the film of the entire outing?
